A signed copy of THE FAERIE RING and a 25 page critique from author Kiki Hamilton

Donated by: Kiki Hamilton

I have a confession to make that will probably make me sound certifiable--when I write, I hear Kiki's voice in my head. So either she's psychic, or she's such a talented writer and critique partner that I try to channel her when I sit down at the computer. Probably a little bit of both. So I'm going to go try and wheedle the lottery numbers out of her while you read more about her awesome donation.

Prize details:
The winner will receive a signed copy of THE FAERIE RING (please note that the books won't probably come until September) and a 25 page YA manuscript critique.

Debut novelist Kiki Hamilton takes readers from the gritty slums and glittering ballrooms of Victorian London to the beguiling but menacing Otherworld of the Fey in this spellbinding tale of romance, suspense, and danger.

The year is 1871, and Tiki has been making a home for herself and her family of orphans in a deserted hideaway adjoining Charing Cross Station in central London. Their only means of survival is by picking pockets. One December night, Tiki steals a ring, and sets off a chain of events that could lead to all-out war with the Fey. For the ring belongs to Queen Victoria, and it binds the rulers of England and the realm of Faerie to peace. With the ring missing, a rebel group of faeries hopes to break the treaty with dark magic and blood—Tiki’s blood.

Unbeknownst to Tiki, she is being watched—and protected—by Rieker, a fellow thief who suspects she is involved in the disappearance of the ring. Rieker has secrets of his own, and Tiki is not all that she appears to be. Her very existence haunts Prince Leopold, the Queen’s son, who is driven to know more about the mysterious mark that encircles her wrist.

Prince, pauper, and thief—all must work together to secure the treaty…

About Kiki Hamilton:
Kiki's debut novel, THE FAERIE RING, will be published by Tor Teen / Macmillan releasing September 27th, 2011. Probably like you, she's always been an avid reader. There's nothing better than to escape into the pages of a book where you can go anywhere and be anything. She's enjoyed writing on and off all my life, but it was reading HARRY POTTER that inspired her to write a young adult novel. She's written several books, about adventure and mystery, about love, about betrayal and trust. With an array of characters who seem like real people to her, and places, like London 1871, that of course she's never visited, but she feels like she has.
